Play idea: Calculation method with Stapelstein®
Mental arithmetic, Memory ability, and Balance
Anleitung
The Stapelstein® elements are laid out in a grid. Numbers are assigned to the colors. At each step over the colored elements, the calculation result is announced.
Varianten
Result comparison
You keep your intermediate results to yourself. The others calculate silently at the same time. At the end, you each write your results on a piece of paper or on a board and compare them with each other.
Build upwards
Three of the Stapelstein® Originals in the grid receive another Stapelstein® Original on top. A stack of several elements is the "sum of its colors," for example, a stack of yellow (+ 6) and green (- 2) has the value 4.
Reverse calculation
You are given a final result, for example 8. You now try to reach the result 8 on the elements with as few steps as possible.
Partner exercise
You pair up with someone. Child A specifies the respective colors that Child B should go to. A maximum number of colors can be set beforehand.
Change calculation type
Depending on your calculation skills, you can also use the colors for multiplying or dividing or incorporate all four types of calculations.
